Duties & International Taxes

At Vantari Watches, we proudly ship internationally and work with trusted couriers to ensure your purchase arrives securely and efficiently. By default, all orders are shipped on a DDU (Delivery Duties Unpaid) basis. This means that the customer is responsible for paying any applicable import duties, customs taxes, VAT, handling fees, or other charges that may be applied by the destination country’s customs authority. These charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping fee and must be settled directly by the recipient at the time of delivery.

By placing an international order, the customer agrees to accept full responsibility for understanding and complying with their country’s import regulations. The customer also acknowledges that any delays caused by customs processing are beyond our control and that additional charges assessed by local authorities are their sole responsibility. Vantari Watches does not collect or remit international taxes on behalf of customers.

For clients who prefer a seamless delivery experience without additional charges upon arrival, we can arrange for DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) shipping upon request. With this option, all applicable import duties and taxes are calculated and paid in advance, ensuring that your item is delivered without any further obligations at the time of receipt. Please contact our customer care team prior to placing your order if you wish to request this service.

By completing a purchase, you confirm that you understand and accept these terms, and that any costs related to customs clearance, taxes, or import duties not included in the original transaction are your responsibility unless DDP has been specifically arranged in writing.

Duties & Internation Taxes

What does DDU mean?

DDU stands for Delivered Duty Unpaid. It is a former international trade term where the seller arranges delivery of goods to the agreed destination, while the buyer assumes responsibility for all import duties, taxes, and customs clearance upon arrival.

How does DDU work in practice?

Under DDU, we ensure that your purchase is transported safely and efficiently to the destination country. Once it arrives, the local customs authority requires the buyer (or their appointed agent) to handle duty payments, VAT, and clearance procedures before the goods are released for final delivery.

What is your DDU policy?

Our standard policy is to ship on a DDU basis, ensuring fast and secure international delivery. Please note that:

  • All import duties, local taxes, and customs clearance fees are the client’s responsibility.

  • Our logistics team will provide the necessary documentation to support a seamless customs process.

  • Dedicated assistance is available to liaise with your preferred customs broker or family office representative if required.
Are duties and international taxes included in the price?

No. All duties, import taxes, and customs charges are the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise agreed in writing. Under our standard DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) policy, these costs must be settled directly with the local customs authority or your appointed broker before your item can be released for final delivery.

For clients who prefer a fully managed, door-to-door service, we can arrange DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) at the time of invoicing. In this case, all duties and taxes are handled on your behalf for a seamless experience.

What happens once DDP has been arranged?

When DDP has been confirmed and all payments are up to date, we coordinate first-class white-glove delivery to your chosen destination. Our team will contact you directly to ensure every detail is confirmed, resulting in a seamless, door-to-door experience with the utmost discretion and care.

Can you arrange Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) instead?

Yes.

Upon request at the time of invoicing, we can arrange DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) services.

This means we will handle all customs clearance, duties, and taxes on your behalf for a fully turnkey, door-to-door experience. Additional service fees apply, which will be confirmed prior to shipment.

Which option is best for me—DDU or DDP?

DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid): Suited to clients who prefer to manage their own tax structures, have existing customs arrangements, or wish to handle duties directly.

DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): Ideal for clients who prefer a seamless, concierge-level service where all import responsibilities are managed on their behalf.
